Zarephath Kitchen
Open Monday - Friday, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Anyone needing a hot meal is served; there is no criteria for admittance, no identification
is required and no limit to how often a person can come. The kitchen served it's first meal on Christmas day,
1985. This grew to 3 meals a week in January 1986 and by June of 1986 it had expanded to 5 days a week.
Initially 700 meals were served monthly. This has grown to the current monthly average of 4,000 meals.
It is estimated over 49,000 meals will be served in 2008.

Zarephath Pantry

Formed in 2001, when a community food pantry moved to a larger facility 2.5 miles away and
leaving many people in the area without access to food. The pantry helps meet the needs of people
living east of 181st Avenue.

Zarephath Kitchen and Pantry are run totally by volunteers, there is no paid staff; it is widely
supported in the community, with gifts coming from churches, individuals, civic groups, and businesses.
There are many ways to become involved in this ministry. You can donate prayers, time, financial support, or food.

Zarephath Kitchen and Pantry are located in a house owned by Trinity Lutheran Church at 59 NW Ava Ave in
Gresham. Entrance to the facility is through the north parking lot of Trinity Lutheran Church. The door to
the building is on the west side of the house at the end of the cement sidewalk.
