Preparation for Marriage

Trinity would like to help you plan a marriage not just a wedding...

In order to assist you, the following requirements are:

• Meet with the Wedding Coordinator prior to setting the date. This consultation must be at least two months prior to the proposed wedding date. A $200 deposit is required to reserve the sanctuary.

• Pre-marriage instruction must be completed by all couples. Consult with the Wedding Coordinator for options.

• The Trinity sanctuary is not available for Saturday evening weddings. Saturday afternoon weddings are to begin by 3 p.m., if a reception is being held at Trinity. All wedding activities are to conclude by 5 p.m.

• Non-member weddings are permitted after first meeting with the pastor.

To contact a pastor or the wedding coordinator please call the church office 503-665-3197 or e-mail Trinity Office.

Preparation for the Wedding

While planning your wedding the pastor and others within the congregation will gladly assist you. Each wedding is individually created, with a variety of styles, liturgies, forms and music. In preparation for the wedding it is the couple's responsibility, in consultation with the Wedding Coordinator, to contact the organist, photographer, florist, and whoever else is involved in the wedding.

MUSIC - Trinity's musician is contracted to provide and coordinate all music for the wedding.

PHOTOGRAPHY - Most couples choose to have pictures taken before the wedding in order not to delay the reception. Allow plenty of time. Flash photography is not allowed during the wedding service. Photographers and videographers are to remain in the back of the sanctuary during the service.

DRESSING ROOMS are available and included when the church is reserved for a wedding.

BULLETINS - If the use of bulletins are desired, the Wedding Coordinator can assist you in preparation and printing. Discuss with the Coordinator at least one month prior to the wedding for preparation.

WORSHIP SPACE AND ENVIRONMENT - Trinity provides both a Unity Candle and Candelabra’s for the service. We ask that you do not attach anything to them. We do not allow wax candles. Banners, paraments, and other worship symbols are to remain in place.  Rice or birdseed are not to be used on the church premises.  Decorations and table coverings used at the reception are the couple's responsibility.

RECEPTIONS - Women of Trinity host the reception in the Fellowship Hall.  Trinity is able to accommodate a wedding and reception of up to 150 guests.  The couple provides all food and drink for the reception.  Food is to be fully prepared and ready to serve.  The Women of Trinity provide the dishes, serving utensils, service, and cleaning up.  Alcohol may not be served at receptions.

REHEARSAL - is scheduled with Trinity’s Wedding Coordinator.

CANCELLATION - The wedding deposit is refundable when there has been no expense incurred by the church.
